A REGISTERED nurse at a Carlisle care home is celebrating after getting a long service distinction.

Dawn Bailey, who works at Lanercost House, has received a prestigious 15 Year Service Award.

Dawn started in January 2005 and has worked tirelessly with residents and their relatives to ensure their needs are met.

Jane McFarlane, employee services director at Barchester Healthcare which operates the home, said: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and I'm delighted Dawn has achieved this milestone.

“It is dedication like this that ensures our residents are provided with a happy place to live.”

Anna Paule, operations manager of Lanercost House said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 15 years of loyal service with Dawn.

“She has demonstrated her dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year.

“I speak for all of us here at Lanercost House Care Home when I say that I’m looking forward to many more years of working with Dawn.”

Lanercost House care home is run by Barchester, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which delivers personalised care across its care homes and hospitals.

Lanercost House Care Home provides care for 93 residents.

Like other homes across the UK, the home has gone into lockdown because of the coronavirus .

In a statement on April 17, Barchester said: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our residents, patients and staff are always our top priorities.

“We have therefore put in place robust and comprehensive contingency plans to respond to the coronavirus outbreak in the UK.

“Our plans will be kept under regular review and updated as advised by the Public health authorities. We are playing our part in the wider care sector and supporting the NHS where possible.”

The home was rated good in its most recent Care Quality Commission report on May 2018.
