A key worker was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
Officers doing a routine stop found the 27-year-old driver had a "familiar whiff" and a drug wipe showed traces of cannabis
The man from Aberdeen was stopped on the M6 at Killington services and arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug over the specified drug limit.
In a tweet sent out by Cumbria police, it read: "Keyworker, essential travel, cannabis instead of breakfast.
"Routine check at M6 Killington services gave a familiar whiff.
"A drug wipe gave a positive result for cannabis and a visit to custody for blood samples."
The key worker has since been released under investigation.
