A SECONDARY school are doing their bit to help NHS frontline workers.
Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Penrith has been helping NHS staff facing the coronavirus pandemic head on by helping to make extra personal protective equipment (PPE).
A spokesman for the school said: "QEGS is pleased to have been able to make over 100 face shields today for the NHS.
"Clear PVC sheets and laser cut headbands.
"Thank you to the NHS staff working to battle the current crisis.
"We hope these help a bit."
The extra equipment will be donated to staff who are working on the frontline to help them protect themselves against the virus.
The school are making the face shields using a laser cutter and have been inundated with requests for more.
