AS an alternative to their usual Easter Dogs Day Out Dog Show, an animal charity has adapted it to work from a distance.

Due to the overwhelming response to the dog show, Oak Tree Animals' Charity have extended the deadline.

The new deadline for all competition entries in now midnight on Wednesday.

Winners will be announced on Saturday, April 11.

All winners, first, second, and third in each category will receive a rosette and certificate through the post. Entries cost £3 or £5 for two dogs.

The categories include, clever K-9 tricks (video needed), rescue rogue (photo needed), happiest hounds (video), golden oldie (photo), puppy dog eyes (photo), action pup (pictures or video).

Send all entries to info@oaktreeanimals.org.uk, do not post entries on their Facebook page.

The charity are also running a short story competition.

Put pen to paper and write a 500 word short story. You could see it published on their website, win a one hour pony fun experience, or cream tea for two in their tearoom.

Oak Tree are looking for stories illustrating the unique bond between animals and their owners.

Oak Tree have also set up guess the number of sweets in the jar competition.

Oak Tree's fundraising manager, Sarah Batty, said: "We are really encouraged by the response we've had so far to our alternative online events - everyone sees to be entering into the spirit of it.

"It's a great way to keep actively involved with the charity and is raising much needed funds."
