Two young girls, with the help of their parents, have created a tribute to the NHS that is hard to miss.

Rosa, 7, and Pip McDonald, 4, like hundreds of others, are off school because of the coronavirus pandemic.

On daily exercise walks with parents Jenny and Paul, they have seen the rainbows other children have been creating and wanted to do something themselves to say thank you to all the nurses, doctors and frontline staff working to save lives.

“Both the children love the Angel of the North and decided that is what they wanted to do.”

The results is a 10 foot, very colourful angel with an NHS heart.

Paul’s construction of chicken wire and paper was decorated by the children and has fast become a talking point in the neighbourhood.

And there is no doubt it is a very big thank you to the NHS.
