Disappointed children will have their Easter fun after all, thanks to a town council.
Maryport council cancelled its annual Easter Egg hunt and, instead, gave 200 Easter eggs to the local branch of the Foodbank.
Now the council, in conjunction with the Maryport Joint School Councils has funded an online Easter Sunday event with Imagination Parties, the Dearham-based party organisers.
Town clerk Paul Bramley said: "It is a way to give the children something even if we can't do it as usual."
The actual event will be hosted by Cookie the Clown at 6pm on Easter Sunday.
Cookie's alter ego, Simone Hetherington said: "It will be a fun and easy quiz for children and all children who take part and submit their answers will get a free ticket to a big party we are going to hold after all the restrictions have been lifted."
Mini competitions started this week.
