Eleven new Covid-19 deaths have been confirmed by bosses at NHS Cumbrian hospital trusts, as the latest government figures show that the last 24 hours have seen the daily death toll rise to 563.
It is yet another grim record for the country's 24 hour death toll.
The figures for Cumbria - released in the last hour by regional health officials - show five more people died from the virus in north Cumbria, where North Cumbria Integrated Care Foundation Trust runs the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.
There were six fatalities at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
That trust operates hospitals in Lancaster, Barrow and Kendal.
It is not clear in which hospital the latest Cumbrian deaths have occurred.
