A PRODUCTION that is eagerly awaited every year by audiences in Carlisle is coming to the Sands Centre this month.

StagedRight’s Sunday Night @ The Sands has a cast of more than 150 young people aged four to eighteen.

Principal David McNeill said: “It is such a thrill to play to a sold out Sands Centre, especially when many household names and tours cannot fill the venue. We value our loyal audiences and try to repay them with a show that gets bigger and better each year.”

A special feature in this year’s show is a tribute to Carlisle’s 'King of Comedy' Donald Scott, who died in 2012.

“Donald was a great ambassador for the city and very much a mentor for me” said Mr McNeill. “I worked with him on a number of his own productions as well as pantomime and I wanted to give a nod to his exceptional talents as well as those of his writing partner, John McGuiness.

"We have a sketch that I have written called ‘Carlisle Remembered’ and it is loosely based on stories that Donald was always telling.”

StagedRight was launched in 2004 and is well known for the top talent that has passed through its doors before moving on to the national and international stage.

Recent StagedRight successes have seen Collabro star Mathew Pagan appearing in ‘The Pirate Queen’ at The London Coliseum and Jack McNeill starting a 12 month contract in the West End musical, ‘The Book of Mormon’.

Sunday Night @ The Sands takes to The Sands stage on Sunday, March 29. and bookings are already ahead of last year. Mr McNeill added “This year we will take our audiences on a musical tour of Broadway and West End hits." It doesn’t matter if you have a preference for old or new, Sunday Night @ The Sands has something for everyone. We have fabulous dance routines, great vocals and fabulous costumes: a real variety show based on the format of Sunday Night at The London Palladium”.
