Police searching for a missing Carlisle woman have found a body.
Emilie Anderson, 26, from Carlisle, was reported missing on Sunday.
She was last seen in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, at about 2.30 on Sunday morning.
Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the Galashiels area.
A spokesman for Scottish Borders Police said yesterday: "We can confirm that the body of a woman was found in the Galashiels area around 3.15pm.
"Formal identification has yet to take place however the family of Emilie Anderson, 26, from Carlisle, who was reported missing on Sunday, 1 March, has been informed."
Emilie was last seen in Market Street, in the centre of Galashiels.
Police have since been searching for Emilie, appealing to the public for information that might help them find her.
Scottish Borders Police Inspector Bryan Burns said: "At around 2.30am on Sunday Emilie was last seen walking in Market Street, Galashiels and we are growing increasing concerned for the welfare of her.
"I am appealing for any persons who may know of her whereabouts or anyone that may have seen a female walking in that area of Galashiels to contact police urgently.
"Enquiries are ongoing and we are working with partners to trace her."
