A LONG-RUNNING weekly Carlisle car boot sale has had to cancel for the third week in a row as a result of the recent bad weather.

The car boot sale at Lough Farm, just off junction 42 of the M6 was supposed to be taking place tomorrow morning.

But organiser Margaret Park said the recent weather had forced her and her husband Gordon to decide that it couldn’t go ahead for a third weekend in a row.

It had been cancelled for the previous two weekends in a row, owing to the high winds and heavy rain.

“The storms have washed the road away,” Margaret said.

“The weather has been so bad, and the forecast for this weekend is bad again.

“In the 20 years we’ve been doing it, it’s only been cancelled twice before.

“But this month, the weather has been so terrible we’ve had to cancel it two weekends in a row, and now we’ve decided it can’t go ahead again this weekend.”
