Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after a rock was dropped onto a car from a bridge over the M6 near Carlisle.
The incident, which took place on February 8 at about 2.50 in the afternoon, happened on the M6 bridge close to Houghton Hall garden centre, just outside Carlisle south of junction 44.
A Cumbria Police spokeswoman said: "The rock fell onto a passing white Mini Cooper, damaging the windscreen.
"Anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with information is asked to call PC 2838 on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 126 of February 8."
