A CUMBRIAN scheme offering advice on how best to save money on energy bills has been praised by Penrith and the Border’s new MP.
Dr Neil Hudson, elected as MP in the December election, said he was “very happy” to give his “strong personal backing” to the Cold to Cosy Homes initiative, run by Cumbria Action for Sustainability.
The scheme provides home visits to those on lower incomes, and gives advice on how best to save money by employing a range of strategies, including improving insulation and finding the right energy tariff.
It is funded by several bodies including Eden and Carlisle City Council.
Dr Hudson described it as a “fantastic project that will help people improve their homes.”
