A problem which left thousands of properties without water has now been resolved.

Homes and businesses in the Eden Valley were left without water after a water pipe was damage by Storm Ciara at the weekend.

United Utilities have confirmed that after huge improvements overnight, the entire network is now refilled.

The supplier says all properties should now have water, but that a small number may still be experiencing some reduction in water pressure as this gradually builds back up in the network.

Further checks will be completed this morning, with bottle stations remaining in place along with the dedicated service for farmers and businesses.

The water company has expressed its huge thanks to the community for their understanding and support during this incident and the kindness shown by locals to its teams.
