Tesco is to open an express store in Maryport.
The grocery giant's One Stop shop on Victory Avenue is to be upgraded because of its success so far.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “We are pleased to be rebranding our Maryport One Stop store to a Tesco Express. We believe the Express brand will better serve the people of Maryport, offering the local community a broader range of both branded and Tesco own branded products, as well as more fresh food and food to go.”
The One Stop store opened amid controversy four years ago because it followed the closure of the Bounty, a popular local pub.
Since its conversion to a convenience store the shop has become popular with residents in the Netherton area of Maryport.
