Single-use carrier bags are set to help community groups and charities in Cumbria Northumberland and Durham.
A total of £9,000 has been made available by Lakes and Dales Co-op’s Community Connect and members are able to decide how the money is allocated.
With the deadline now approaching, Scotmid is calling for applications from organisations and groups who are aiming to make a difference in their community – whether that be to fund a specific initiative or to simply keep the doors open.
Three causes will benefit from a share of £9,000 with one getting £5,000 and two getting £2,000 to support their projects.
The funding has been generated from the sale of single-use carrier bags.
The money will be awarded in October 2020 and the closing date for applications is on February 28.
