SPORTS clubs in Cumbria are set to receive support from Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire with a £3,000 bursary scheme.
The ‘Tomorrow’s Local Legends’ scheme ran in the summer, supporting Carlisle-based junior sports clubs.
Now the bursary has reopened and is branching into West Cumbria. It is open to sports clubs with young athletes between the ages of five and 16. Applications are open until Monday, January 6. Clubs that benefit will be invited to take part in a video with their new kit and equipment.
Mark Whitelocks, managing director for Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire, said: “We saw a huge volume of applications for the first bursary scheme over the summer but sadly we were not able to help out all the teams who applied!
“For this reason we’ve relaunched the bursary and this time we’ve extended the bursary scheme to West Cumbria.”
