THREE men from Wigton have appeared before a Carlisle court to face an allegation that they inflicted grievous bodily harm on a man with intent to do so.
The accused men are John Bewick, 21, of Howrigg Bank; Liam John Dixon, 26, of Throstle Avenue; and Michael Glaister Makereth, 20, of Aspatria, near Wigton.
At Carlisle's Rickergate Magistrates' Court, all indicated an intention to deny the charge.
The prosecution alleges that they unlawfully and maliciously wounded - causing grievous bodily harm to - Tyler Potts on December 2. No details of the alleged offence were outlined in court and the defendants spoke only to confirm their details.
None formally entered their pleas.
Magistrates ruled that the case should be dealt with by a judge at Carlisle Crown Court during a plea hearing on January 24. Until that time, all three defendants were granted bail.
