Throughout the season of goodwill and joy, many are doing their bit for those less fortunate than themselves, and Hays Travel Whitehaven are no exception.

The group have joined forces with Michelle Denwood's charity, Cleator Caring Moor, collecting everything from gift sets to essentials such as toiletries and tinned food.

Hays Travel Whitehaven staff began collecting on December 1, and will accept items and gifts until December 20.

The group are excited to be helping others, and employee Hayley Tinnion said: "We as a store wanted to support this local charity because we all work for a family ran business, and it's so important to us that we try to help make a difference in our local community.

"This charity does amazing things for families at Christmas time, and we really wanted to help them put a smile on people's faces this Christmas."

Donations can be dropped off at the Hays Travel Whitehaven store on Lowther Street, and the team are hoping to see plenty of treats and gifts to make someone's Christmas that bit more special.

Selection boxes, mince pies, toys and books for children, chocolate and juice are just a few of the items being accepted by the team, and the more donations, the better – "every little thing will make a difference."

Hayley added "a big thank you to everyone who has already donated", and can't wait to see how much the team can collect with the community's help.
