CALLOUT: Penrith Mountain Rescue Team
A 39-year-old male had to call for help after becoming lost in the dark in the Swindale Head area.
Vehicles from Penrith Mountain Rescue were dispatched on Saturday at about 8pm to the area from Wet Sleddale and Swindale.
Kendal Mountain Rescue were asked to go on standby in case the search area had to be extended.
The casualty was located and safely escorted off the fells and returned to his vehicle.
The call-out took 18 members four hours.
