ASKHAM Hall's kitchen garden cafe will take up a second residence next month thanks to increased popularity from walkers during the winter months.

The cafe which is usually closed between December and March will move to The Queen's Head, Askham.

Owner of Askham Hall, Charles Lowther, said: "The whole ethos of The Queen's Head is centred on providing a great location for local adventure with easy-to-follow routes like the new Lower Castle Loop, all fuelled by wholesome, hearty food.

"As well as being popular with visitors, we know the inn is a meeting point for locals, so it seems like a natural place for potential visitors from the café to meet while the gardens are closed for the winter.”

Askham Hall's cafe will be open as usual until December 7. The cafe will then fully move over to The Queen's Head on a daily basis until March after December 8.
