The result has been declared for the Silloth Town Council by-election which was held yesterday.
The victor was Ronald Angus Emmerson, who polled 177 votes.
His nearest rival was James Edward Graham (67 votes), followed by Carol Ann Elisabeth Doran (62 votes), Labour candidate Daniel Brown (40 votes), and then Ian Ward (32 votes).
There were only two rejected ballot papers and the turnout was 16.86%.
Therefore Ronald Angus Emmerson was duly elected.
