A popular children’s play park in Cockermouth that was closed for several months has now reopened.
The park in Memorial Gardens was closed in June for vital resurfacing work and has also been refurbished with some new facilities which are accessible to all.
This includes a roundabout which can accommodate two wheelchairs.
The improvement work cost about £33,000.
Mayor of Cockermouth Julie Laidlow reopened the play area on Monday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Ms Laidlow said: “Cockermouth Town Council has installed a new roundabout with flush deck for easy access and space to accommodate two wheelchairs, laid new wet pour and refurbished the seating, the spinner and ride-on horse.
“The play area has been significantly enhanced.”
