Get to know the secrets of the Eycott Hill Nature Reserve with an autumn packed full of events.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust is hosting a variety of events at the nature reserve over the next month.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn all about the Trust’s conservation efforts, take guided walks, and hunt mini-beasts.

A Halloween themed discovery day on October 24 will embrace and celebrate autumn with spider walks, willow weaving workshops, and other arts and crafts.

Paul Nichol will help visitors get to grips with the fungi that surround the nature reserve on October 29.

On October 15 there will be a chance to find out more about the new herd of Belted Galloway cattle, in a walk with James Irving, the Eycott Hill Nature Reserve grazier.

Budding conservationists can support efforts to maintain the area on one of a few practical conservation days on October 23, November 7 and November 20.

Visitors will help to build bridges, maintain trees, and do some drystone walling.

The events may be free to attend but the Cumbria Wildlife Trust encourages people to pre-book their place.
