A Carlisle Crown Court jury is to decide whether or not a man illegally carried a Samurai sword and robbed a teenage boy in a Carlisle park.
Jamie Wilson, 30, entered not guilty pleas to the two allegations during a brief hearing today.
The court heard that the robbery is an allegation that the defendant stole a bike from a 13-year-old boy on August 28.
The defendant denies both the robbery and the allegation that he had no reasonable excuse for having a sword in a public place on that day.
Judge James Adkin ruled that Wilson's trial will begin on November 11.
In the meantime, the defendant, of Miller's Close, Botcherby, Carlisle, who appeared before the court via a video link, was remanded in custody.
