A WOMAN who suffered a serious head injury following following an alleged assault at her home has died.
Katrina Fletcher, 64, of St Kentigern Close, Keswick, was found at her home by the paramedics at about 11.15pm on Wednesday, September 11.
She was taken to Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary, where she was until she died this week, police have revealed.
Ms Fletcher's family have released a moving tribute to her.
It read: “We are heartbroken to share the news that our sister Katrina (Trina) Fletcher, passed away on the 24th September surrounded by her family.
“Trina was a loving sister, sister-in-law, auntie and friend to many in her home town of Keswick.
“We know she will be sadly missed by friends, neighbours and ex-colleagues.
“The family would appreciate privacy at this sad time.”
Patrick Webster, 62, of St Kentigern Close, Keswick was arrested on September 11and later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
He appeared at the magistrates' court in Workington on September 13 and was remanded to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on October 14.
A Cumbria police spokesman said: "Webster remains on remand for grievous bodily harm with intent.
"Cumbria police are continuing to consult and review this on-going investigation with the Crown Prosecution Service."
