A FIRE crew had a busy 24 hour period with call outs seeing them tackle a blaze which ripped through a Grade-II listed building, as well as two fires in the open.
After working all night on Tuesday with firefighters from across the county to control the fire at Scalesceugh Hall, at Carleton, near Carlisle, Brampton fire crew were then alerted to a vehicle fire on the M6 - service was not required.
At about 8pm yesterday crews were then called again - assisted by Carlisle West - to reports of hay on fire next to Toby carvery.
A spokesman from Carlisle west said: "Brampton had it under control when we arrived to assist."
Brampton crews were called later to reports of another fire in the open. This time a refuse fire in the open outside Kingstown, Carlisle.
