Police are looking for witnesses to a crash that took place near Caldbeck.

The crash, which happened on Friday evening at about 6.50pm, is being treated by police as a 'fail to stop road traffic collision'.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: "A 46-year-old man from Abbeytown is reported to have been travelling in a Toyota Carolla on the B5305 from Wigton towards Penrith when another vehicle, described as a maroon coloured 'caddy type' van, pulled out of the junction of the B5299 at Goose Green from the Caldbeck direction and collided with the Toyota before continuing on the B5299 towards Dalston without stopping.

"The man driving the Toyota suffered minor injuries.
