Detectives investigating a serious assault in Workington have charged a 41-year-old man.
Tony Joynes, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent and two counts of possession of a bladed article.
The charges are in connection with an assault which occurred within a house on Coniston Drive on Wednesday.
A man and a woman were both injured in the incident.
Joynes has been remanded in custody ahead of his appearance at the magistrates’ court in Workington today.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said the force is continuing to provide increased patrols in the area for public reassurance following the incident.
