A 26-YEAR-OLD drink driver flouted a ban as he used his partner’s car to go to the shop.
Adam Richard Christian Sewell, of Buchanan Place, Carlisle, had been disqualified for 36 months for drink driving when he was caught behind the wheel on July 24.
Amy Labram, prosecuting, said officers received information that a car they were close to was being driven by a disqualified driver.
Appearing before Carlisle’s magistrates’ court yesterday, Sewell pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
The court heard he had 19 previous convictions for 30 offences, most of which were driving related.
Gail Heard, defending, said Sewell was working towards becoming offence free and he accepts responsibility
Sewell was given 80 hours unpaid work, had an additional six months added to his current 36 month driving ban, ordered to pay £85 in costs and to pay a £90 victim surcharge.
