Residents have been left without water all morning after a water leak.
United Utilities, customers in CA11 Penrith, have had reduced water pressure and in some cases loss of water altogether.
An inspector found a leak in a field to be the cause of the problem.
A United Utilities spokesperson said: “A leak in a field on the road between Ellonby and Skelton is causing some customers in CA11 to have poor water pressure.
"We have three of our water on wheels tankers pumping water into the system to keep customers taps flowing while we carry out our repairs.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are doing everything we can to get things back to normal as quickly as possible."
