A WARNING has been issued after a dangerous jelly fish was spotted on a Cumbrian beach.
Millom Coastguard sent out a warning about Lion’s Mane Jellyfish after sightings of it at the town’s estuary.
Stings from these types of jellyfish are severe, but not fatal.
A spokesman said: “Jellyfish stings leave thousands of tiny stingers called nematocysts in the skin.
“These stingers can continue to release venom into the body.
“Best first aid treatment is to remove tentacles and wash with vinegar. It is also good to seek medical advice.”
