Children from Thursby Primary will give back to their community on Friday by improving the appearance of their walk to school.
They will be staging a "big pick-up" that will raise awareness of the issues facing the town.
During the afternoon of activities, children will work with members of the community to understand how they can help to make the environment better.
This will include discussion about litter, plants growing onto the paths, and dog fouling.
Parish councillors, the local PCSO, Home Housing representatives, members of Tivoli, and Allerdale councillors will join the children.
Children who attend Thursby Primary School are encouraged to wear fun or comfortable shoes to school that day to get excited about walking to school.
