Firefighters were called to a heathland fire in north Cumbria.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service crews from Lazonby and Penrith were scrambled to tackle the blaze at Plumpton - between Carlisle and Penrith - just after 11.30am yesterday.
They arrived to find about 60 metres by 20 metres of heathland alight.
They used one hose reel jet, two beaters and two water backpacks to extinguish the fire, an operation which took about two hours.
