POLICE have arrested two men after a van was stopped from entering the county with the intent of selling fish.
Members of Cumbria Police's Proactive Team stopped the Ford Transit van at about 9.30am on Monday in the area of Brough, Kirkby Stephen.
A check of the products in the van showed it wasn’t being transported correctly.
The two men, a 64-year-old and a 49-year-old, both from Durham, were arrested on multiple offences due to previous reports given to Trading Standards.
They were:
- Trader engaging in unfair commercial practice
- Trader engaged in commercial practice which is misleading
- Trader engaging in commercial practice which is a misleading action contacting false information
- Trader engaging in a commercial practice which was aggressive
Both were released under further investigation.
Officers are urging anyone who spots any suspicious activity to report it by calling 101.
