CUSTOMERS can exchange a grapefruit for a beer at a new bar in Carlisle next week.
BrewDog customers can exchange the fruit for an IPA named Elvis Juice.
To celebrate the second anniversary of the beer’s launch, BrewDog on Botchergate, Carlisle, will accept payment in the form of grapefruits.
One grapefruit equals half a pint of beer.
The brew is described as being “zesty, citrus-laced and totally refreshing” by the BrewDog team and has an ABV of 6.5 per cent.
A spokesman for BrewDog said: “To celebrate our beloved Elvis Juice and the two-year anniversary of its launch, we are going to re-instate grapefruit pay again for one day only. “Join us on Tuesday, March 26 and pay for a half pint of Elvis Juice with a grapefruit.”
The grapefruits handed in will be used to make beer.
