A CUMBRIAN village is making strides towards a grand fundraising total as it prepares for its upcoming events.

Castle Carrock has seen an impressive variety of events so far, all held in aid of the Watson Institute restoration fund.

The next event, a curry night taking place tomorrow evening, is already a fundraising success having fully sold out.

Two further fundraising events have been lined up for April. The first is the return of the Castle Carrock Big Breakfast.

Taking place on Sunday April 7, the morning is back by popular demand after the runaway success of the first event in January.

With full English breakfasts on offer as well as cereal, toast and unlimited tea and coffee, the morning will run from 9am until 11.30am, with a suggested donation of £8 for adults and £4 for children.

The following weekend, on Saturday April 13, sees folk group Kinfolk visit the village.

They have performed across the UK since the release of their debut album in 2006.

Tickets are £10 each, and the evening begins at 8pm.

Since Castle Carrock’s first event in aid of the Watson Institute in late 2018, more than £3,500 has been raised for the restoration fund.
