Health chiefs in Cumbria say they are ready for Brexit
HEALTH and care services across north Cumbria are fully prepared for Brexit, a local NHS boss has said.
Stephen Eames gave a strong assurance at the North Cumbria Health and Care System Leadership Board meeting in Penrith yesterday.
There are fears that Brexit could knock on effects on public services, including the NHS. But Mr Eames said: "We are fully prepared. I'm talking collectively across the NHS and local government, for the impact of Brexit.
"There's been a national assurance process, going through red, amber and green. We are firmly in the green box on that.
"We are ready when everyone else is ready."
