A LOCAL walking group is gearing up for its next adventure.

Brampton Walkers are Welcome will be taking in the sights of Hayton to How Mill and beyond on their next trek, taking place on Sunday March 10.

Led by local Rambler member Pat Radcliff, anyone who wants to join in should assemble at the Moot Hall in Brampton town centre at 10am.

For those who want to set off straight from the starting point, meet at Hayton church at 10.15am.

From Hayton church, the group will head for How Mill railway station, then east to Cowran and on to Greenwell, just west of Castle Carrock.

The circular walk will then turn back towards Hayton, ending at Hayton church via Hayton Town Head and Thieves Street.

Taking place over mostly level ground, the walk will not be particularly strenuous. The terrain will be made up of fields and quiet roads.

The total distance of the walk amounts to six miles.

Anyone who would like to join the walk should bring a packed lunch and a waterproof to guard against any unexpected changes in weather.
