Fire service crews rushed to rescue a man in north Cumbria last night after he became stranded in a bog.
Two fire engines from Carlisle and one from Haltwhistle were called out just before midnight to rescue a man who had sunk to his waist in marshy ground.
The incident took place in the Gilsland area, east of Brampton.
Fire crews managed to recover the man from the bog, and were in attendance at the incident for about an hour.
Paramedics were also called out, and gave the man a precautionary check once he had been rescued.
