A MAN who was hit by a car in Penrith has died.
Police confirmed today Colin Jeffery from the town, died on Monday following the collission at Esso in Bridge Lane on January 28.
The 72-year-old was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Newcastle.
Mr Jeffery's family are in touch with a Police Family Liaison Officer at this time.
A 66-year-old man from Wigan, who was the driver of the Mercedes Van involved in the collision is also assisting police in their enquires.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at about 6.30am that day or who has dash-cam footage. Contact PC1947 Ross of the Mobile Support Group on 101.
