GENEROUS songsters have boosted a Cockermouth school's playground fund by £1,000.
All Saints’ Community Rock Choir raised some of the funds at its Christmas concert. The group chose to donate the money to All Saints’ Primary School, where the choir meets weekly during term time.
Head teacher Nicola Smallwood said: "We are thrilled with such a generous donation which we will be able to put towards the next part of our adventure playground and would like to thank All Saints' Community Rock Choir."
The choir meets during term-time every Monday night at 6.30pm. It is led by the musical director Brian Melville and welcomes adults of all abilities who enjoy singing in a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere.
