FIREFIGHTERS administered first aid to two guinea pigs following a house fire in Whitehaven.
Two crews from the town attended reports of a fire in Fleswick Avenue at about 1.40pm.
On arrival they were met by a fire in a downstairs living room in the two storey semi-detached property.
Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service said: "Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
"First aid was administered to two pet guinea pigs by fire service personnel."
They were at the scene for almost two hours.
