A man who stole cough medicine from a West Cumbrian supermarket has found himself in court.
Edward Christopher Hewer, 35, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court in Workington.
The court heard that Hewer, of Queen Street, Whitehaven, stole a bottle of cough medicine worth £7 from Morrisons in Whitehaven on January 12.
The following day, magistrates were told, he was caught in possession of class A drug diamorphone.
He admitted both charges.
Hewer was fined a total of £160 for the two offences and ordered to pay £85 costs and £7 compensation.
He was also given a two-year criminal behaviour order, banning him from entering any premises that are members of the Whitehaven or Copeland Rural Shopwatch schemes, with the exception of the West Cumberland Hospital.
