POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a spate of thefts in Carlisle.
It comes after more than £1,000 worth of tools was stolen from a van in Ashford Way, off London Road, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Officers are urging anyone who saw two to four men, of stocky build, dressed in dark clothing in the area to get in touch.
A police spokesman said: "It is one of three thefts reported to police in the same night within hours of each other.
"Police are advising that people don't leave valuable items in vehicles overnight."
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 2435 Fothergill on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
