The defence secretary is due to visit Cumbria next week for a tour of Copeland.
Secretary of State for Defence Gavin Williamson will be shown around the constituency on Thursday, January 17 by Conservative MP for Copeland Trudy Harrison.
The day will include a visit to a number of local businesses and charities, as well as a meeting with local members and councillors in Millom.
Mr Williamson said: “I know what a lovely constituency it is and I am looking forward to seeing Trudy and her constituents.
“Trudy is a fantastic MP who is always campaigning for local issues. I want to thank the team in Trudy’s office for all the hard work that I know they have put into organising the day.”
Mrs Harrison, added: “Across Cumbria we have so much to be proud off so I am delighted to be welcoming the Secretary of State to my constituency next week where I will be showcasing the role that Copeland plays in the defence of the realm whilst meeting with local charities, businesses and organisations.”
