A man with a history of getting behind the wheel while disqualified has been given a suspended prison sentence after breaching a ban again.
Robert David Ashbridge, 32, of Seven Acres, Parton, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court in Workington and admitted driving while disqualified.
Magistrates heard that Ashbridge had driven a grey Peugeot 307 at Planting Villas, Seaton Road, Workington, on July 11 while he was banned from holding or obtaining a driving licence.
The court heard he had 10 previous convictions for driving while disqualified, and had obtained the vehicle during his disqualification.
Ashbridge was given a six-week jail sentence, suspended for 14 months.
He was also given a 14-month driving ban and ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.
He must pay £450 court costs and a £115 surcharge.
Ashbridge also admitted driving without insurance, and failing to give information about the identity of a driver.
He was given no separate penalty for those offences.
