OFFICERS have made several arrests outside a Carlisle supermarket.
Police were called to the report of a theft at Sainsbury’s superstore, on Church Street, at about 6.30pm on Saturday.
Following further enquiries, three people were arrested.
A 33-year-old man from no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of driving over the prescribed limit and theft and released without bail pending further investigations.
A 28-year-old man from Middlesbrough was arrested on suspicion of theft and released with no further action.
A 47-year-old woman, Sharon Beattie, who has no fixed address, has been charged with theft and will appear at Carlisle Magistrates court on Tuesday, January 29.
