An elderly pedestrian has died after being hit by a car.
The woman, a 72-year-old from the area, was stable after being struck by the blue Ford C-Max on Main Street, Brampton, shortly before 5.30pm on December 20.
The casualty was taken by ambulance straight to the Cumberland Infirmary for treatment, but on December 29 she passed away.
The car driver, a 68-year-old man from Penrith, was uninjured and is helping police with their enquiries.
The family of the deceased is being supported by the police at this time.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact 101.
