Three fire engines responded to a blaze at a block of flats in Carlisle last night.
It happened just before 10pm in Chatsworth Square.
The property consisted of eight flats over three floors.
The fire was located in the airing cupboard on the first floor.
Everyone was evacuated from the property while firefighters tackled the blaze.
Crews from Carlisle East, Carlisle West and the Longtown stations all attended. Firefighters wearing breathing equipment used a hose reel jet and positive pressure ventilation unit.
They were at the scene for over an hour.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
