A woman has been warned she could receive a prison sentence for unlawfully wounding a man.
Caroline Margaret McKelvey, 48, faced one charge when she appeared at Carlisle Crown Court yesterday.
McKelvey denied the alleged wounding of Jordan Starkey with intent. However she admitted the alternative and lesser charge of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Mr Starkey.
Her offence is said to have been committed in June 4 at an address on High Street in Cleator Moor.
Judge James Adkin adjourned the case for the preparation of a pre-sentence report, and an psychiatric assessment.
McKelvey, of Jacktrees Road, Cleator Moor, was granted conditional bail and told she is due to be sentenced at the crown court on February 1.
“Simply because I am adjourning your case, please don’t think I have decided what your sentence will be. I have not. All options will be open,” Judge Adkin said.
